I have good news. I got an awesome promotion at work and I’m crazy excited about it! I now work in the inventory department and with that new job comes a big new desk and of course, complete and total organizational chaos – so the work starts to overhaul the whole area to get myself a little more organized. It’s important to have a pretty and organized place to work. After all, I spend more of my wakeful hours there at that desk than I do at home with my own family.
So I’m sharing with you, some of my fun and easy projects to pretty up my work area. I know, who gets this excited about work?!?! This girl! Because any chance I get to start anew and be crafty in the process, is beyond exciting to me. <grin>
Cute DIY Paperclips or Bookmarks:
For these paperclips or bookmarks, or whatever else you might like to use them for, I pulled out my fabric scraps and 1″ dritz button cover kits. The kit walks you right through the easy 2 minute process of covering the button with your favorite fabric. Hot glue and a gold jumbo paper clip transformed them into the cutest little bookmarks! Here’s a link for the Dritz Aluminum Cover Button Kits to make some that will match your office decor.
Trendy DIY Binder Clips:
These binder clips are a must have for any office! Sparkly 3/4″ washi tape adds some pizzazz to these 1-1/4″ binder clips. Just align the tape and wrap each end towards the inside of the clip.
Personalized DIY Labels or Tags:
I purchased inexpensive plain white tags and prettied them up with inexpensive bottled gold acrylic paint, a pencil and a push pin. These tags will be used to label some of my new bins. The top of a push pin can make some pretty perfect dots when dipped into the paint (thanks to my daughter for this tip! This is how she puts polka dots on her freshly painted fingernails).
It can be overwhelming to change jobs but cute always makes things a little easier!
Cute, cute idea, thank you for sharing and congrats on your promotion!!! By the way, my name is Carli and so is my grand daughter’s name. So from us Carlis, appreciate your clever idea.
This is perfect. I can’t wait to try for the start of the school year in the fall. Thank you for sharing ?
