Summertime and the living is easy, fish are jumping and the cotton is high. Oh and it’s smoothie season! Smoothies for breakfast, smoothies for snacks, smoothies for dessert! I have a collection of smoothie recipes and this is one of my favorites. If made with nonfat milk it is also a very healthy option for snack time. My kids will never turn them down.
Start by adding 2 cups of ice into the blender.
Add 3/4 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen) and 2 bananas. When my banana start to turn brown, i peel them, bag them, and freeze them for smoothies or for our spectacular Oh My Banana Bread Recipe.
Add 1/2 C yogurt. I typically use plain or vanilla but any kind will do and it’s much healthier than ice cream.
Pour in 1 tsp homemade vanilla extract.
Add 1 T. honey. You can substitute the honey with 1 T. agave syrup or plain ‘ol sugar.
Add 1 cup milk. Any milk will do, almond milk or coconut milk are delicious in this recipe!
Blend for 2-3 minutes.
