I’m fairly confident that you had no idea that today, September 10th, is National Lace Making Day. Not to worry, until very recently, I didn’t know either. But once I learned of it, I remedied the situation by quickly whipping out my size 2 crochet hook, some crochet cotton and getting to work on these Color the Season Coasters to fancy up my tea service.
The truly wonderful thing about crocheted lace is how quickly it works up. This pattern used charted crochet instructions. Here’s a nice key from the Crafty Yarn Council to help you along if you haven’t used crochet charts before. You’ll find, I’m sure, that they’re pretty self explanatory.
Happy Lace Making Day, my Crafty Friends! Cream or lemon?
lemon please!
Those look great! I find crochet charts confusing – but I really am not a crocheter, more a knitter who crochets.
Lovely! It makes your tea so fancy!
Wow, I remember that teapot! Haha!
Will have to get that chart and try it for the lace doily’s.
Never worked with the steel hooks before.
There was a lace-making day? Who lobbied for that???
Those cookies look really good. I’m distracted by the cookies. yum
After I took pictures of them, I ate them. I always want my cookies served on little doilies now! Spoiled.
