Have you seen the new UK crafty magazine, Mollie Makes? I found the first issue at Jo-anne Fabric, but was never able to find any of the subsequent copies. Snatched off the shelves before it even warmed up its spot, is my guess. Original and trendy, this magazine is loaded with crafty living ideas for your home and wardrobe. I especially love how this magazine recognizes the independent crafter, by frequently covering interesting items in blogs and etsy shops.
For myself, the crochet patterns alone are worth the cover price. The first issue included this great little apple cozy that I made up in some especially lovely and squishy leftover handspun from Becca at A Song to Spin.
Another early issue showcased the pattern for these darling crochet flowers:
When trying to get some of the first issues, I learned that some have already sold out. Since then, I started buying the electronic copies through Zinio, which I’ve found to be quite convenient. Technology, you make me smile.
I’m following this magazine closely. Can’t wait to see what Mollie Makes next!
I NEVER would have thought of an apple cozy, but it really makes sense to keep them from getting bruised so easily. What a cute idea.
I believe in cozying all the things, Alethea! 🙂
I’ve not even seen this mag on the stands! I thoroughly enjoy craft magazines that are geared toward multiple disciplines! There aren’t many out there, and a lot of them don’t seem to stick around for long. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for this next time I’m out!
Hope you find it, Michelle. It’s perfectly wonderful. 🙂
I love Becca’s yarn!!! Those flowers are so pretty! I’m in a flower mood lately and can’t help making them!
They’re amazingly easy too! I think the crochet flowers were in issue 3… sadly, also sold out. :-/
If you go to http://molliemakes.themakingspot.com/ you can get a subscription and they also have projects it looks like. I want this apple cozy pattern! So cute!
