Every year I say I am going to do something for Christmas that I wish I’d managed to accomplish the year before. The story is always the same – I wish I would have started shopping or crafting my gifts earlier, I wish I would have started my baking earlier, I wish I’d done my grocery shopping before Christmas Eve for Christmas dinner, etc. etc.
One of the things on my “I wish I would have” list from last year was… I wish I would have made a cute gift tag instead of scrawling messy To’s: and From’s with a sharpie right on the wrapping paper of my hastily wrapped gifts.
I was determined this year to do better, so when I was brainstorming my special gift tags, I thought about how I always consider the Holidays to be a magical time. With that in mind, I created these super easy, but extra special magical tags for my already wrapped gifts!
I bought these adorable little message jars at my local craft store for a few dollars.
I wrapped 20 gauge jewelry wiring around the rim, twisted it on, and then used pliers to press down the pokey piece.
I made a loop and twisted the piece that was sticking out the same as before. I love the idea of leaving them like this, adding a hook, and then leaving messages on the Christmas Tree for my kids to read on Christmas Eve! Creating magic memories for the little ones makes me happy.
Next, I filled them with Christmas magic! or glitter if you want to get technical
I created the tag on my computer and printed it out. I’ve attached the PDF here if you want to use it!
Next, I glittered around the edges and hand wrote To: & From: on the back.
Used some curling ribbon to attach it all together and PRESTO!… No sharpies this year!
