Roll out the Memories

Stamped Salt Dough Christmas OrnamentsStamped Salt Dough Christmas Ornaments and tagsWhen I saw this great idea for stamping salt dough for wedding favors on the Intimate Weddings site, I just couldn’t wait to mix up a batch! I fondly remember making ornaments from salt dough with Mom when I was a little girl, so today my littlest girl, Ivy and I dug out the cookie cutters and made some salt dough fun of our own!

In all these years, the recipe hasn’t changed at all, but the styling certainly has. We used the Busy Bees Kids Crafts recipe. We rolled out our dough, stamped it randomly, then cut out the heart shapes. The larger heart cookie cutter turned out ornaments for the tree, while the smaller hearts became tie on’s to dress up our packages.

It was fun to ressurect this childhood recipe, dress it up in modern style and create some holiday memories with my littlest girl on this crafty, snowy day. Maybe one day Ivy will make these with her own daughter!
