Loop Loot

I recently took a long weekend trip to London and was lucky enough to make a quick stop at Loop for some yarny type shopping. I have been knitting from stash all year, so I thought I deserved a little treat! Besides, I’d been wishing for a copy of Juju’s Loops – the book collaboration by Loop store designers Juju Vail and Susan Cropper. I was so thrilled to get my copy! There’s several things I’m interested in knitting: the Oak Knot Hat, Swoon, Cedar Shake Mitts, the cardi Cinnamon Girl. Beautiful patterns!

Then there was the yarn: Wollmeise in two coveted colors and The Uncommon Thread – a generous 225 meter skein of dk to sport weight BFL from the UK in the most delectable colors hand dyed in Brighton. I could have bought dozens of these….but remembering my huge stash at home, limited myself to one.

Besides Loop, I found a Cath Kidston store during a side trip to Windsor Castle where I picked up one of her oilskin bags and a London souvenier hanky. Love!

And did I tell you we saw the Queen there? We did! Here’s my proof. Did you know she is a knitter?

As usual, she looked quite jolly. Happy Diamond Jubilee, Dear Queen!

What a wonderful trip to London! The Queen and Wollmeise – I am very, very jealous!

I love that picture of the queen knitting and had used it in one of my blog posts too. Do you know if she still knits? I tried Googling it but couldn’t come up with an answer.

I’m not sure Kristie! I just got such a kick out of that picture on the Vogue FB page. :-) I do love going to London. Loop is such an artsy little shop to visit, in a great little antique/arts area.
