My sister-in-law, Cindee, is my favorite cook! She makes some of the most flavorful dishes I’ve ever had. Knowing how much I love her salsa, she came over the other day and said “I have a surprise for you!” and handed me a USB drive. Hmmmm, I didn’t know what to think. She said “Your surprise isn’t the drive itself, it is what is ON the drive.” Ahhh, that made much more sense. I opened the folder and saw that she had taken all of these pictures and typed out the recipe for her salsa. Yummm! Couldn’t wait to share it with you!
Gather all of your ingredients.
Grill or broil the peppers until the skins are dark brown/black and are easily removable. Put in a plastic bag and set aside to cool.
Remove the seeds from the tomatoes by running them under water and scooping out the seeds with your fingers. Finely dice the tomatoes and place into a large mixing bowl.
Slice onions and rough chop a medium size bunch of cilantro. Place them in a food processor and pulse together.
Add the cilantro and onion mixture to the chopped tomatoes.
Mince garlic and add to the tomato mixture.
Wearing gloves, peel the skins off of the peppers, remove the seeds (or leave them in if you like a spicy salsa!) and pulse in a food processor. Add to the tomato mixture.
and the juice of 1 or 2 lemons.

Hi, my question is not about the salsa which looks delicious and I will probably try it one day, but about Cindee’s food processor. It looks like a “Mini” one which is what I am looking for. I wonder if she would share with me how she likes it. I haven’t had much luck with kitchen appliances lately. Thanks!
Hi Chloe,
Her food processor is actually a full size one. Her batches of salsa are so huge that it looks like it might be small but it’s definitely full capacity. Ha! It’s a really good food processor. I’ve used it several times for hummus. I’m unsure of the model but if you’d like that information, I’m happy to ask her.
Thanks! We are only two in this family at this point (empty nesters) ,and I would never get the use out of a large one, so it’s good to know this so I won’t spend a lot of time looking. Although I’ve seen something very similar by Cusinart in a mini size (same processing buttons) so this encourages me to revisit that item. My husband loves salsa!
The food processor is actually a Cuisinart. We picked it up from Costco for around 150$, it has many attachments and it also has a smaller bowl that fits inside of the larger bowl. It is ideal for making small portions AND large portions.
