Blazing Needles

Blazing Needles Yarn Shop Salt Lake CityLocal Yarn Shop Salt Lake CityWith Mom and Grandma  in town for a much anticipated visit, sister in law Cindee and I decided to treat our two favorite knitters to a trip to our super cool local yarn store, Blazing Needles. Our entire family of women: Mom, Grandma, Cindee, myself and my four daughters descended upon the store in force.  There’s no mistaking the location because a super sized ball of yarn and needles sculpture graces the front yard of this charming little cottage shop.

We spent a wonderful hour wandering around, admiring the prettily displayed samples and the beautiful yarn selection.

Mom and Grandma went on and on about how they had quite enough yarn and didn’t need not one single skein more, but I think the wall of Madelinetosh wore them down and before long, we found them by the swift, waiting while their purchases were wound into neat little cakes.

There’s apparently an impromptu shawl knitalong in the offing that was planned between the two of them as they passed various skeins between them for inspection and exclaimed over the richness of the various color combinations.
This is one beautiful yarn store, filled with gracious and helpful employees. Salt Lake City is lucky to have them!  Just one more thing to love about my new home!

It really was fun and the employees/owners so patient with us, even though we crowded in with so many of us! :-)

Ohhh what a lovely looking shop……outside and in! The yarn fumes must be coming through your blog, as I’ve just clicked onto my favourite store which sells Madelinetosh.

I’m pretty sure Madelinetosh has that kind of power. ;-)

Gotta watch out for Madelinetosh! It grabs me every time, especially when I’m a yarn store I’ve never visited before. Thanks for sharing your account of such a lovely time!
