Going Nutty!

Crochet Acorn Project Bag PatternAbout a month and a half ago I joined a Ravelry fall swap. It was my first swap since joining…ehhhem, becoming addicted to Ravelry. The theme for the package was your partners Halloween costume choice. My partner gave me two choices: a Trojan football player or a chipmunk. Well, I’m not a football kinda girl so the chipmunk theme won and the nutty, foresty crafting began! My first find was this Little Acorn Project Bag by Roman Sock. Chipmunks like acorns, right? I used shanitita’s modification to line the bag with a hedgehog fabric - a little hedgie told me she loves them too - and some of the hedgies are also holding acorns so they fit right in!

Heather Bailey Freshed Picked Pincushion

I just had to make her my newfound favorite project – a fat little patchwork pear pincushion! We blogged about this cool Heather Bailey pattern in our pincushion makeover post. I got all matchy, matchy with the same hedgehog fabric that lined the bag.

Embroidery floss Printable Thread Bobbins

I must tell you about these printable thread bobbins from Wild Olive. My partner is a seamstress and I’m convinced that a set of these must be included in every sewing stash! They are the perfect solution to those wadded up and tangled embroidery floss skeins. I printed them on cardstock to make them a little more durable. I might even be tempted to laminate them if I was going to use them long term.

The fun craft room additions were all packaged up with some squishy yarny goodness for her to squirrel away in her stash. ♥

That is such a cute and cool swap package Carli! I love the pattern of the fabric. Too cute! It makes me wish I knew how to sew.

I just joined my first swap on ravelry…it’s for the Rebecca Danger group. I’m pretty excited about it :) I love making little things for people.

I don’t know how to crochet, but that acorn is so cute it makes me want to learn! And I am wondering where you bought the hedgehog material – I would love to get some to make something for my hedgehog loving daughter.
